The Sprouters series explores the interaction of mineral and plant organisms. When they come into contact with the soil, the seeds start their germination process in the dark. Minerals and water are the mediums that support this natural transformation process. Each soil is different in its mineral composition, and therefore in each soil the seed and plant vary and are transformed by absorbing its components. Sprouts are pieces carved in various minerals from different heights of the Peruvian Andes. The piece, in the form of a container with a lid, alludes to a latent force in its interior and proposes to the spectator the act of germination as a physical interaction with the object.
