SOIL MAP N°4

The pieces in the Soil Map series are part of a quest to bring our bodies closer to the geography we inhabit, to the mineral diversity of the Peruvian Andes. Through research, we recognize the Andes as the great element that articulates Peruvian biodiversity: the stones descend from the heights through the riverbeds to the desert and the Amazon. By joining small fragments of stone, considered  waste by the big industry, this surfaces are created and a new geology is symbolically reconstructed: the lithic tradition of Peru is recreated through artisanship.
